Thanks so much for wanting to get in contact with me. I love hearing from my readers. Please forgive me if it takes me a while to get back to you – I do get hundreds of emails!
I’m afraid I do not offer a manuscript assessment service. If you would like to learn from me, please take one of my writing workshops. You can find out where I’m next teaching on my Appearances page, or simply sign up to my VIP Club and I’ll email you to let you know.
If you have a simple question about writing to ask me, please check out my Writing Journal first. I answer all writing questions there and it is possible I have already posted the answer to your question.
My most recent of my fairytale-inspired historical novels for adults is The Blue Rose which tells the story of an impossible love between the daughter of a French marquis and her Welsh gardener during the tumultuous years of the French Revolution. As she suffers through the Terror, he sails to far away Imperial China on a quest to find a blood-red rose that blooms even in the frost.
I have also been writing a biography/memoir with my sister, Belinda Murrell, inspired by the remarkable life story of Charlotte Waring Atkinson, author of the first children’s book published in Australia. It will be published by the National Library of Australia in 2021, to celebrate the 180th anniversary of the publication of her book, A Mother’s Offering to Her Children.
Snow-White, Rose-Red & Other Tales of Kind Young Woman, the latest in the Long-Lost Fairy tales series, will be published in March 2020.
Finally, if you just loved my Witches of Eileanan series and wish to know if I’m planning on writing any more books set in the magical, faraway land, I’m afraid I have no plans to do so at the moment … but I never say never …
However, the whole two series have been released with beautiful new covers. Look out for them!
